PR Support

Dad and son at an ironman challenge

The brief

We worked with Harrison’s Fund for five years as an external PR team to help raise the charity’s profile. During this time, we led communications campaign for One Day, Blue Hair Day and Harrison’s Brunch including securing celebrity support, regional and national print coverage and social media strategy. We provided support for its ‘I wish my son was a dog’ communications campaign as well as The Saatchi Medical Innovation Bill, for which the charity was an advocate . During this time we also successfully placed the charity’s beneficiary case studies in national media and worked with the fundraising team to provide ongoing monthly PR support for regional stories. We also entered their Chief Executive, Alex, into the JustGiving Awards 2015 for which he won Fundraiser of the Year and Pride of Sport which he won Sporting Fundraiser.

Impact

Highlights include a double page interview in the Daily Telegraph for ‘I wish my son was a dog’ communications campaign. BBC Breakfast interview for The Saatchi Medical Bill. You magazine exclusive interview, 5Live interview, Best magazine interview, Woman magazine interview and One Show appearance for Alex’s World’s Greatest Ironman Challenge (The One Show appearance resulted in an increase of donations of £20k).

"As is the way in this modern social media driven society I found BluebirdPR on twitter. I look back now and realise that tweeting Sarah was most probably the single most important tweet I have sent to date. It is a rare commodity to find someone with the experience, skill, know-how and passion of Sarah in the Not For Profit sector. She is integral to driving my charity forward and I cannot imagine not having her involved... truly outstanding."
