Cancer Care Support Survey

The brief

I worked with Cancer Care Map to launch the results of their survey which demonstrated the lack of awareness of cancer support services across the UK.  In addition, I worked with the charity over a three year period to place stories in the media, these included key stories throughout the year such as specific campaigns, events, fundraising challenges, charity research, personal case studies of its beneficiaries and interviews with Jonathan Dimbleby.

Impact

I secured coverage an interview on BBC Breakfast for the charity’s Chairman, Jonathan Dimbleby and ambassador, actor, Greg Wise, as well as a Times op-ed in The Thunderer and interviews across seven regional BBC Radio stations. As a result of the coverage, the charity had a 75% increase in traffic to their website and a number of new enquiries.

“Sarah and I initially connected through twitter at a very fortuitous time in that we were looking to grow our ‘brand’ and awareness of the work we do and start really engaging with fundraisers. Sarah hit the ground running and got us some great coverage for an event that David and Jonathan Dimbleby were attending on behalf of the charity. Since then, month after month she has really enabled us to reach out and engage with our growing supporter base. She has a wealth of knowledge of the charity sector and opened up many opportunities for us to tell our story to a wider audience.”
